CCR1 (C-C chemokine receptor type 1) is a G protein-coupled receptor involved in the immune system’s response to inflammation. It binds chemokines such as CCL3 (MIP-1α), CCL5 (RANTES), and CCL7, guiding the migration and activation of immune cells. CCR1 is mainly expressed on immune cells, including monocytes, macrophages, T lymphocytes, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. It is found in blood, lymphoid tissues, and inflamed sites. CCR1 is considered a pharmacological target. It is implicated in various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and transplant rejection.
